Staff at the gallery are busy changing the paintings displayed on our unique rotating carousels. Work being hung in time for the new exhibition includes original drawings by Amy Dover whose work examines the dark side of nature.. She will be joined by Tyne & Wear artists Graham Hodgson, Eileen Rowell and Naomi Walker. Other guest artists include: John Erwin from County Durham and Sue Dewhurst from North Yorkshire.
NeST was conceived as an incubation space for creative practitioners. We run a membership scheme in partnership with Digital City to nurture and support a variety of artists to develop their work. We are delighted to introduce emerging artist Chris Binney from Darlington. Chris has prepared a series of pastels for his first gallery exhibition and co-worked with Keith Orange to produce a range of prints. Chris aims: 'to show animals and birds as important living entities in our world.'
To discover Chris's work and that of other local and regional artists exhibiting at NeST visit us Monday to Saturday 9a.m. to 5p.m. and Sundays 10a.m. to 3.30p.m.. Cafe Nest is now open from 8.30a.m. Monday to Saturday to serve breakfast. Daily specials and a take-away menu are available. Entry to the gallery is free.
We would also like to congratulate member artist Jill Campell on her first solo exhibition at Trevelyan College, Durham.
