Judy Caplin is a ceramic artist based in Romaldkirk.
She is a member of the Teesdale Artists Network and runs Teesdale Pottery Group.
Judy throws on the wheel and makes decorative, functional and purely sculptural pieces. Her work has a distinctive style and includes large scale floor pieces. Her large figures are reminiscent of the Cycladic heads from the Bronze Age period.
Judy says that: 'there is nothing like the thrill of someone buying a piece that has been created from a lump of rather unpromising clay. It is a real boost to beginners and experienced makers alike.'
